"The Clachan" was built in 1938, the word "Clachan" means
hamlet or small
village.
In 1991 we added a purpose built extension for our
guests.

ABOUT THE ROYAL BURGH OF WICK

Wick (norse origin meaning creek or Bay) is the most northerly
county town in mainland Britain. It has a population of approx. 9,000 and was
once quoted as the busiest herring fishing port in Europe. There are several
interesting places for you to visit in and around Wick here are but a few.

Within half an hour lies John O’Groats, where day trips may be
made to the Orkney Isles with full guided tours.
If you would rather take the
car you can catch the car ferry at Scrabster and Gills Bay.

Dunnet Head is the most Northerly point but Duncansby Head has
great views and
if you are lucky you might caught a glimpse of the puffins.
